The study examined the relationship between leadership styles and job performance among Non-teaching
staff in osun state university, osogbo, osun state, Nigeria. The broad objective of the study was to examine
the relationship between leadership styles and job performance among non-teaching staff in Osun State
University, Osogbo. The specific objectives were to: assess the relationship between transactional
leadership style and and job performance among non-teaching staff in Osun State University, Osogbo.
determine the relationship between transformational leadership style and job performance among non-
teaching staff in Osun State University, Osogbo. investigate the relationship between laissez-faire
leadership style and job performance among non-teaching staff in Osun State University, Osogbo.
The study was a survey which employed descriptive survey design. 11% of the entire population were
selected from the study which represent 51 respondents and this comprise all selected non-teaching staff of
Osun State University, Osogbo. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the respondents. The
hypotheses were tested using, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, with the aid of Statistical Package for
Social Sciences SPSS-Version 25.This study findings has established that leadership styles significantly
impact job performance among the non-teaching staff at Osun State University. The findings also reveal a
notable positive correlation between both transactional and transformational leadership styles and job
performance. It was recommended that it is crucial for the university to establish mechanisms for
monitoring the impact of different leadership styles on employee job performance over time. Periodic
assessments and surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and performance metrics will enable the university
to make data-driven decisions regarding leadership development initiatives.
